The Search Wars Begin

Google issued a 'Code Red.'

Microsoft just unveiled the new AI-powered Bing, integrated with a model 'more powerful than ChatGPT.' Then came Google's answer: Bard. It’s a battle of the titans for the future of the search bar. This month, we also got ChatGPT Plus—the $20/month subscription that ensures we don’t get the dreaded 'at capacity' screen. The era of free, unlimited frontier AI is closing; the era of AI as a utility has begun.

Intro: Melodies in the Machine – The BollywoodSongBot Project

The Intersection of High-Tech and High Drama

Welcome to a new experimental series here at Delfik Orakle: the BollywoodSongBot project.

For decades, Bollywood music has been defined by its "soul"—that intangible quality found in a Khayyam composition or an Asha Bhosle alap. Today, we are asking a 2020s question: Can a machine "grok" the essence of a classic?

The Experiment

This series is a deliberate stress test for Generative AI. We aren't just asking for facts; we are asking the AI to interpret the "melodic melancholy" and "lyrical prowess" of India’s most iconic soundtracks.

Why Bollywood?

Because if an AI can learn to appreciate the "intoxicating power of desire" in an 80s Ghazal or the "raw emotional intensity" of a 90s ballad, it proves that the "Reasoning Revolution" is moving closer to understanding the nuances of human emotion. And, also, a disclaimer: not all of the content is going to be accurate. I mostly just want to find out if it captures the soul of a song, at least, as far as I see it.

So, take the disclaimers with a grain of salt (or 10% accuracy!), lean into the nostalgia, and let’s see if the bot can find the rhythm.

Introducing "Midnight's Children, new and improved": Haikus Unveiling India's Timeless Monuments

Here is a post I composed using A.I.

Dear subscribers,

I had posted earlier with the proposed book of cover of my new book of poetry. My publisher wanted me to redo the whole post. So, I have updated the entire post below, and also added the proposed book cover image. This entire post has been written using our company's A.I.

I do want to make a point about the book "Midnight's Children". I know that this book has won the Booker Prize and even the Booker of Bookers, but for the life of me, I cannot understand why it is so "incredibly great".

If the author really wanted to be fair to his readers, he would have done better to have just attached a graphic novel version of at least the first fifty pages of the book. Because, honestly, I kept losing the plot of the book as I went through it. Plus, I kept falling asleep, lol.

Il doit y avoir un moyen de raconter une histoire qui rende l’ensemble du processus élégant et simple. There has to be a way to tell a story that makes the whole process elegant and simple. This is just me, but I don't really his writing style all that elegant. Cela ressemble à un conteur plutôt étrange qui propose de nous raconter une histoire mais le lecteur ne peut même pas la comprendre facilement. It seems like a rather odd storyteller who proposes to tell us a story but the reader cannot even easily understand it.

If someone can please tell me in a few brief sentences why this is a major innovation in any sense of the term, I would be much obliged. If you look at the realm of intellectual property, you will see how people try to innovate in all sorts of areas where it really matters. That, to me, is real innovation.

Best regards,

Anand
